Examples: I sure hope Chipper's injury is not too Kolb, as we need him back asap.
Marcus Giles has been playing Kolb lately.
I must admit, I'm kind of surprised by his struggles, and kind of not. On the one hand, he was great last year. He was just beating hitters into the ground, no one could get solid wood on his stuff. On the other hand, his strikeout total had to be a cause for concern. Closers just don't remain consistently dominant, generally, without strikeout stuff. Sometimes you gotta be able to reach back and get the big K with runners on base. I really thought that trade (Capellan for Kolb) was going to be a good deal for both teams. The Braves got the instant help that a contender needs, and the Brewers got an top tier pitching prospect that a developing team needs. However, I have to tilt the deal a bit in our favor at this point.
We need some updates from the altanta fans down there, Im sure there is more then a few of us that will look to make a grab in lew of another Kolb tonight.
How about that Giles boy. Average already back up to .270+ .
Yes, I was, uh... I was thinking about ordering the tape, the videotape... about the college girls and the... the wild... the wildness. They're going wild or something? Somebody told me... about going wild.

Is Kolb still worth a spot in fantasy leagues?? He's really pissing me off, especially today when everyone did terrific for me. My offense was fantastic, pitching was great except for Kolb, he really spoiled a good fantasy day. I'm tempted to just drop him out of spite, but I do realize those 10 saves he has probably offset the bad ERA and WHIP because of the few innings he's pitched.
Anyone think he'll turn the season around? What about Foulke, he's having an equally terrible year.
...Boston papers now and then suffer a sharp flurry of arithmetic on this score; indeed, for Williams to have distributed all his hits so they did nobody else any good would constitute a feat of placement unparalleled in the annals of selfishness. -Updike
What would you say? He was an all-star with a 2.98 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 39 saves. His only shortfall was strikeouts. From a fantasy perspective, I consider that to be a great season from my closer. In the month of June he had 10 saves with a 0.00 ERA/0.58 WHIP. As a Brewer fan watching him day in and day out, I thought he had a great season.

..................he was great until the all star game..in the 2nd half his ERA was 5.29 !! w/ 4 losses and 1.47 WHIP...274 OBA..this is NOT great and of course struck out less than 4 per 9 IP..so it has been 5 consecutive months that dkolb has pitched poorly..no closer is given that long a leash..remove him NOW !!

His K rate has absolutely nothing to do with his problems, he just doesn't have his control this year. Anyone that walks as many as he has this year is going to have problems.
