Good. It's assault. You can't throw things at people. I don't care if you have a ticket or not. Baseball is a sport, not a free-for-all and fans need to realize that.
Talk all the smack you want, but don't interfere with the players on the field. That's just uncalled for.
Plus, there have been a few incidents in Oakland over the last couple of years. They're trying to set an example. I hope it's successful.

I'm glad. I hate the Yankees and hate Giambi but fans shouldn't be throwing beer on the players or making contact with them in any inappropriate way, its a privilege for them to watch the game so they shouldn't ruin it like that.
Screw the Peavy and Burnett Watches, I'm probably one of the laziest people in the world

agreed. Fans should never ever come in contact with players. Anyone that throws beer on a professional athlete is trash. I hope this guy gets his.

Just playing devil's advocate here but couldn't the guy (with one of the charges being public intoxication) sue the A's for serving him too much alcohol?. Thus, causing him to not know what he's doing when he threw the beer.
I'm sure some squirmy lawyer is already working on it. Bring back Johnny Cochran from the grave!

Some people don't understand the meaning of 'spectator'. You go to the games to watch and root for your team. I hate rowdy fans who ruin the enjoyment of watching a baseball game I paid good money for.
