Is this good news or bad news for Patterson owners?

It's obviously a bad thing. But who knows, he wasn't hitting much out of the leadoff spot either.

I think its a good thing...more rbi's...about the same number of runs scored...maybe a couple fewer stolen bases.

In real baseball, he is anything but a leadoff man.

he's not living up to expectations in my mind. he's not stealing enouhg. his average is disgusting. he doesn't hit with runners on. what good is this guy if he doesn't steal bases?

he stole like 75% of his bases after the allstar break last year, i'd wait until then before deciding he's not meeting expectations.

Corey is much better than a sixth hitter

Yeah probably, but seeing he doesn't understand a walk gets you to first base easier than swinging over your head, that eliminates hiim as a good leadoff hitter also, and there isn't really another place for him to go in that lineup. Of course seeing thats what Dusty preaches about walks (they're no good he thinks), you can only half blame Corey.

I think ideally he hits 2nd, in front of D Lee with the provision he signs a contract to not swing at anything that isn't a grooved fastball. Batting in front of Lee would get him some better pitches, provided he can lay off the junk.

Of course, that leaves the question of who leads off, as Hairston really doesn't seem to be the answer yet. Just another reason to stay away from all things Cub.

From a fantasy standpoint this obviously hurts his value, more RBI opp but a lot less runs scored and most likely less steal attempts. For the cubs though, I like this move, maybe he should be 5th ahead of Burnitz but Jeromy has been playing surprisingly decent this year. CP is not a top of the lineup hitter, that .300 OBP in the 1 or 2 hole is just horrible.

he could be, but he's either too bad or too stupid to hit anywhere but 7th. god i hate him, except for his glove.

and the fact that dusty uses a random number generator for his 1-8 spots doesn't help

where are those dugout dice i posted........
