aarrgghh
A lot of time the icons to install programs go straight to your desktop. If it's not there then I'll download it and try to figure it out for you.
wierd its not there ..
I am going to uninstall it and try again.

In your hippie image, you have a lasso around the hippie, telling gimp how to edit just the pic and remove the background. I have been reading tutorials all evening and can't figure out how to select just the person and get rid of the back ground.

uggh ..
You can't just select the hippie, because as far as the program is concerned, the original picture is flat, its one layer and everything is connected. There is no difference between the hippie and the background for the program. You have to physically outline the hippie with the lasso tool in order to "select" him. If the Gimp has a magnetic lasso like Photoshop does, I'd suggest using that because the program helps you outline it (based on colors) instead of the plain lasso.
thanks. his looked automatic in that pic example he gave, so I was curious
No problem. I can see how easy it would be to think that from his example. Its certainly something that would be nice if it existed since it'd make things much easier.
Thanks a lot ACS and everyone else who posts ridiculous sigs and player cards. I'm going to get to learning this and start posting cool cards/sigs. I used to use Photoshop regularly when I was in High School for some gaming league that I owned but have completely forgotten how to use it to tell you the truth. I'll post up some stuff when I get going again. Thanks for the help and inspiration.
