I guess this would be interesting if he got some time. A couple years ago he was a legit SS with a ok future until they picked up Clayton and Councel.

The announcers during the D-Backs games have been saying repeatedly that several teams are interested in Cintron, including the yankees. They make it sound like there is a good chance he'll be dealt. Would not be surprised at all to see him shipped to Chicago.

I'd be surprised if the DBacks gave away Cintron for nothing in return, but I guess you never know.

The Cubs are optimistic on two fronts -- that Zambrano will start in one of the three games this weekend at Wrigley Field against the White Sox and that they will have a new backup infielder, perhaps as soon as today, when they open a two-game series in Pittsburgh. The paperwork has yet to be finalized, but the Cubs expect to make a deal without giving up any players in return.

The DBack would still be getting hosed if they gave Cintron for Baker. Right now, the Cubs should give away Baker for a bucket of chicken and a torn lawn chair.

If I were a big-league team, I wouldn't take Baker if you GAVE me the chicken and lawn chair.

Wouldn't want him f'ing up my rotation, too.

I heard on WSCR 670 AM that the "mysterious backup infielder" is Erique Wilson who was let go by Baltimore yesterday.

I'm trying to find a link...
