Lost my veto virginity ...

Postby great gretzky » Tue May 17, 2005 12:27 pm

did I make the right call? I thought it was absurd.

team a gives tejada, peavey, pat the bat -- gets back pierre, tsao and orlando cabrera.

I took a look at the standings and steals/saves weren't overriding needs as both were in the 8/9 range out of 12 teams.

I hated doing it, but that seemed patently absurd to me. tejada is better than pierre, peavey better than tsao. pat and ocab could be legit.

any way to look at this differently?

Worst trade in the world. Either someone:
Doesn't care
Accidentally hit the accept button
Is a total idiot

Either way, you did the right thing.

I agree. Bad trades are one thing, but this thing is something else entirely, and it warrants a veto.

you know, this public league has been pretty good with approving trades and what not.

I feel like posting that I vetoed it, and even if it goes through, it is still trash.

but then, I don't want to be a magnet.

No veto. I feel like I should assign this next sentence to a hot key as I seem to be typing it into every veto thread on here: You have to let managers manage as they see fit. Some people don't have the same projections for the rest of the season as you and you shouldn't force your feelings about certain players on other managers in your league. The only reason to veto is if there is collusion going on, and if that's the case then the proper action is to lock both teams rosters and find new owners for the league next year.

That being said, this is one of the worst trades I've seen since a guy in my league traded Furcal for Womack. But still not vetoable.
