JESSE FOPPERT IN COORS!??

Postby BigUnit51 » Sat May 24, 2003 6:20 pm

foppert is scheduled to face the rockies tomorrow in coors field... is foppert ready?? He hasn't been as overpowering in the majors as scouts projected him to be, but his last couple of starts have been encouraging. He also is a flyball pitcher which doesnt go well w/ the thin air. Should Baseball's #1 ranked prospect get the nod tomorrow?

Nah, I'd keep him benched. Really hasn't shown the ability yet to blank a team in the best hitter's park. And look at it this way, if he does pitch well, maybe he's turned the corner for the season afterwards.

I'd chance it...in fact I am chancing it...

his last 2 starts have been great...he outdueled Schilling and shows he has great composure. I think he'll end up with a line like this

i'll chance it too. He had two great outings. one against schilling and another against millwood's no hitter. plus colorado can't hit anything right now.

I'm sitting him on the bench, but that's only because I have the luxury of being able to afford it. I am in a roto head to head league where i am winning most of hte pitching categories.

I wouldn't do it, especially in a roto league. I often times sit out my aces in Coors and 9 times out of 10 that strategy pays off.

yeah... i'm sitting foppert out for this one... as yanksfan said, if he pitches well, he'll probably gain the confidence to live up to his immense potential. I'd rather have that than a typical coors field shelling. Plus, i have todd helton and dont wanna see a fellow teammate crush foppert.
