Team A is in 8th in an 8 team dynasty league. Team B is in 2nd in the same league. Team A offers Team B the services of Soriano for the next 3 months. Basically the idea is this:
Team A gives Soriano, Mike Piazza
Team B gives Jose Reyes, Brandon Inge
In three months,
Team A gives Reyes
Team B gives Soriano
Now, I know Inge isn't a huge upgrade on Piazza now, but Team A is a Inge fan and thinks he'll be the bee's knees next year, while Piazza is on the way down.
How does this fit in the moral/ethics of fantasy baseball?

It's a group of friends, I'm not trying to screw anyone, just figuring out whether this kind of trade can be allowed. I'll post my opinion in a bit, just seeing what others thought first.

If you don't like it just put in the rules next year that it is illegal. Otherwise, I see no problem since Team B is paying a long-term cost for short term gain.
Interesting. I'm apparently in the minority here, because most of my league isn't complaining, and everyone here has said no big deal.
I'm in 7th place, thanks to the fine (choke) play of many players. Should I be allowed to offer Tim Hudson, Mark Prior, Carlos Beltran, Javy Lopez, Adam Dunn, and Billy Wagner's services for the rest of the season in return for a David Wright type? It would definitely improve my team in the long run... Of course, i'd be giving the season to whomever I chose...

I personally don't like rental trades and my main league has gone non-keeper to help eliminate these types of deals. But in keeper leagues, trading present value for future value happens all the time - and this is just an example of that.
If you really don't like, then do what you suggested - and "rent" all your studs to one team for a very good player for next year. It'll result in a rule change and no one can really object since they've already established a precedent of allowing these types of deals.
