he was my third best pitcher.....their descriptions on the radio sounded like something out of a horror movie....

:-o

and to top it off, the padres stadium people played the theme from M*A*S*H* when bobby and the trainer went to the mound....

John Thomson - S - ATL

John Thomson left tonight's game in the fifth inning with an apparent finger injury.
It wasn't clear how it happened, but Thomson hurt either the index or middle finger on his right hand. He allowed one run in 4 1/3 innings before leaving. May. 16 - 11:37 pm et

radio reports said that his knuckle on his middle finger swelled up after making a pitch. he was in pain. the speculated that it could be nerve related or a dislocation, but they were not 100%.

the scary thing is that it swelled up REALLY FAST!

the television crew just said that there is still no official word from the team about his condition.

Thomson
Hampton
Livan
C. Zambrano
D. Wells
Percival

all in one league.

This is just unbelieveable.

My 100% healthy pitchers in that league are now: Santana, El Duque (Right, gotta stay healthy for a torching). F. Cordero and Baez.

You don't have to make contact with anything to have a joint pop out. Hopefully, this isn't anything particularly serious. In the one league where I own Thomson, I also own Sheets.

one of the announcers also talked about a pitcher that broke his hand after throwing a pitch. he did not hit it on anything either.....

basically don said that there is a little stinger felt on a finger everytime a pitcher goes through his motion and releases the ball. john's stinger stuck....

Considering he throws the ball 1000s of time a year, it is a just weird. Though there was a guy that broke his arm throwing a pitch just a few years ago. Forgot the guys name, but I do remember that.
