"I'm a horse," Zambrano said Sunday. "They'd have to kill me [to get him to miss a start]."
Gotta love a pitcher with no concern whatsover for his own well-being.
Sitting out due to injury is out of the question, but missing games with a suspension for throwing at guys is fine. I mean, if someone hits a jack, you have to peg the next batter....

Yeah probably right that it isn't Dusty's fault that Zambrano throws 130 per game.
I guess one game is every game also.
Oh, and OC, that happened once. And why are you talking? Isn't Harden on the DL also? Why aren't you crucifying Ken Macha?

Zambrano's 7 starts before the last outing which was cut short he threw:
106
111
108
118
105
96
136
For a 23 year old pitcher who has logged in the last two seasons:
214 IP, 16th in # pitches
209 IP, 11th in # pitches
That isn't including the playoff games he pitched in. You can pretend that pitch counts don't matter but we've seen way too many youngsters go down b/c people like Dusty. I've been saying it for the last few seasons. Dusty abused all his starters. Period.

well, he's been good and (*cough*) healthy for the past few years, so it's not really surprising he's thrown a lot of pitches. whats more, he's a fastball pitcher, with some times eratic control, which is pretty much a recipe for high pitch counts.
anyhow, its a minor injury. name 10 quality SPs who havn't missed time in the past 2 years with minor injuries.

This isn't true. It's like saying you have to be Lou Gherig to get Lou Gherigs disease. You can get tennis elbow from playing gold too.
