With Keith Foulke not exactly lights out this year does anybody body see a changing of the guard? Matt Mantei has closer expirence got off to a rough start but has been pretty good recently. Think he should be picked up and put on reserve as a backup plan?

while watching the Red Sox pre-game show the other day they said that Terry Francona said Foulke is the closer and will continue to be the closer despit his struggles
And once again the great Bellhorn has landed on his feet, $800,000 from the Padres in 2006!

living in boston, i can tell you that the sox organization have the utmost faith in foulke and believe he can get out of his rut..
i dont believe its time to give up on him just yet, bench him and let him play himself out of the slump

Lack of Ks has been his big problem so far this year. Last night in a mop-up role, he struck out 2 Mariners. Maybe he's rounding into form.

I don't think Foulke is in any danger of losing his job.
My apologies. I have a nephew named Anfernee, and I know how mad he gets when I call him Anthony. Almost as mad as I get when I think about the fact that my sister named him Anfernee.

foulke was lights out in the postseason last year.. he had a sick change up..(that renteria atbat when renteria swang about 2 seconds after the ball went past him)
so its puzzling y foulke is struggling.. maybe he is injured

best keeper team ever!

Yep, Foulke would need more than just a couple blown saves to lose his job

The only way Foulke is not Boston's closer this year is if he is injured or traded (the latter being unlikely).
