New League, New Team(Please Rank 1-10)

Postby redsoxguy111 » Sat May 14, 2005 1:04 am

I'm feeling confident with my H2H league team, so now I'd like to work on my Roto league.
10 Teams, R HR RBI SB AVG W SV BB K ERA are the categories
Here's my team:
C Paul Lo Duca
1B Adam Dunn
2B Tony Womack
SS Orlando Cabrera
3B Hank Blalock
OF Pat Burrell
OF Carlos Beltran
OF Miguel Cabrera
Util Johnny Damon

SP Josh Beckett
SP AJ Burnett
SP Roy Oswalt
SP Mike Mussina
SP Livan Hernandez
SP Mark Buehrle
RP Danny Graves
RP Miguel Batista
RP Dustin Hermanson

Only real weakness I see is my relievers. Rate please and leave a link.

Your starting pitching is awesome, but your offense is really weak. Your relievers aren't great, but you only need them to get saves. I think your SP will be strong enough to cover the weakness in your relief pitching. I'd be most concerned about Graves and whether he will remain a closer through the rest of the season.

Maybe it's just me, but guys like Womack, Cabrera, and Burrell just don't excite me. Dunn is lower-tier 1B and LoDuca's playing well, but can he keep it up? Cabrera, Damon, Beltran, and Blalock will have to carry your offense, but in a 10 team league, I'm not sure that's enough firepower. I think you need at least 1 or 2 really good hitters. Who's available on your wire?

Is that BRIAN Roberts on the waiver wire? If so, grab him quickly. Even when he returns to Earth, he'll give you much more than Womack.

I'm really happy with my starting pitching. I really want to get Graves off my team. I'm trying to get a trade to get Lidge. I have the best era in the league with a 2.93.

Maybe an upgrade at C or 1B. Trade an SP maybe? But your team looks awesome. Some SBs should help you though (Dave Roberts is good for that!)

very good team, catcher could get better, so could 2nd base. But as soon as Orlando gets back on-track you'll be fine

Your pitching is fine, so you don't need to make any changes there.

As for your offense, I would start trying to deal Cabrera and LoDuca, and picking up guys who will put up stats. I also don't trust Womack to do much this year, so you might also look for a 2B upgrade.
I never smile if I can help it.... Showing one's teeth is a submission signal in primates. When someone smiles at me, all I see is a chimpanzee begging for its life.
