Over the head was probably the wrong choice of words, I guess something more along the lines of wouldn't appreciate it as much maybe? I don't really know. I didn't take many anatomy classes until my senior year, so had pretty much checked out mentally by the time we got to the really cool dissections.

I would argue though this is not over the head of all high school students. I would have loved this because I did not have the privilage of taking advance Bio classes in college. Too busy taking EE classes.
In high school, I would've jumped at the opportunity to dissect a live animal.
We had to dissect dead cats that had latex pumped into their blood streams in order to point out veins vs. arteries. Seeing something work in real life is much better experience then many other high school biology AP students will experience during class.
Yes, I was, uh... I was thinking about ordering the tape, the videotape... about the college girls and the... the wild... the wildness. They're going wild or something? Somebody told me... about going wild.

The school's principal, Kirk Anderson, said notifications went to parents explaining the dog was going to be euthanized and that the experiment would be done with the dog's organs still functioning.
The parents were told ahead of time, so if any of them had a problem with it, they could have spoken up and kept their kid out of class that day.
The dog used in the experiment was going to be euthanized despite the class project.
Since the dog was going to be put down regardless, why not use it as a teaching tool?
I don't see what all the fuss is about. They knew ahead of time, and it wasn't like they just picked a dog off the street and killed it. I don't see an issue here.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
That psycho should be arrested, Maybe do it with a class of pupils training to be vets or something like StlSluggers said but I mean come on in front of high schoolers, I was in high school thi year and operating on a live dog wouldnt have been very educating for me, that would have been disgusting and cruel. Have ya noticed also how it said he was just a substitute teacher? Im thinking hes some psycho off the streets that just wants to scared little kids and the principal must be his buddy or something.
