I don't think this was wrong. If you're going to do it, they appear to have handled it in the most proper manner because it was a dog that would have been put down anyways and they apparently gave ample parental notifications.

HOWEVER…

I don't see why an experiment of this type is necessary in high school. I know that stuff like this happens all of the time, and veterinarians (or would-be vets) need this kind of experience. But subjecting high schoolers to this sort of procedure seems a bit over their head and unnecessary - imo.

What the hell is the matter with that guy. If a kid wants to be a vet or a zoologist or something, let him dissect live animals in college. I wouldn't even bother showing up to class if I knew they were gonna be doing that. "Look, children, see how a dog turns food into poop."

I agree. I know when I was in high school and we disected dead stuff some of it was pretty over my head. No need for the trauma of that experience if you ask me in a high shool biology class.

anyone watch Southpark recently where Paris Hiltons pets all committed suicide? The episode ended with Slave shoving Paris Hilton up his ass...which immediately began the adventure the Lemminiwicks the gerbal partaked in. It was great.


I would argue though this is not over the head of all high school students. I would have loved this because I did not have the privilage of taking advance Bio classes in college. Too busy taking EE classes.

Over the head was probably the wrong choice of words, I guess something more along the lines of wouldn't appreciate it as much maybe? I don't really know. I didn't take many anatomy classes until my senior year, so had pretty much checked out mentally by the time we got to the really cool dissections.
