kingctb27 wrote:You guys are missing the point here. Okay, throwing 100 mph is great and all but that's only for one sport if you ask me. Running a 4.3 can highly benefit you in everything. Track, Football, Basketball, and even baseball. There is no substitute for for speed. You can't teach speed.

But with those other sports you have to be able to catch or cover a guy in football, shoot in basketball, and be able to hit in baseball. If you can throw 100 mph you're going to get a lot of looks for just that quality alone, so if I could have only one I'd take the gas. ;-D

I think running a 4.3 40 is much cooler, but for practical purposes, I'd rather throw 100 MPH, too. Now, if I were a 6'4" 215 lbs. WR and ran a 4.3...that'd probably be another story. But without further elaborations, give me the 100 MPH pitch.

Very nice....I guess we all have our different motives....Criminals like vandaley obviously want the speed cause throwing a baseball gets you no where after robbing a liqour store
I'm too lazy to make a sig at the moment

God these are some dumb threads you got over here on the baseball side... :-° :-b

I'm with Kingctb...I'd definitely take the 4.3 40 time. Speed will help you a lot more in life, at least you know you'd be dominant in track and field...but having a 100 mph fastball doesn't make you a great pitcher, you need the control...there are probably plenty of pitchers in the minors right now that can throw that fast but will never amount to much in the bigs...

if I was 17 and a senior in high school then i would take the 100 mph fastball, as it would give me a good chance in my name being called in the june MLB draft.....

but since i am 29 years old, i would take the 4.3 speed,,,, it would help me much more in softball, basketball, and the other sports i still play now.....
