Rolen to the DL??

Postby BeefSandwiches » Thu May 12, 2005 11:14 am

May 12 The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the Cardinals are expected to place Scott Rolen (3B) StL on the disabled list today due to his sprained shoulder. A final decision won't come until the results of an MRI today come back. "It's not good," Rolen said.

He hurt his shoulder and I heard on baseball tonight that he was not going to hit the DL because they expect a quick recovery. He will not play though for a few days. If he does not recover quickly, they may put him on the DL retroactive.

Update from Rotoworld:

Quote:
Dr. George Paletta indicated today that Scott Rolen could be sidelined anywhere from two weeks to six weeks.

This just keeps getting better and better. Paletta said the results of an MRI showed no significant structural damage, but he added that Rolen wasn't able to undergo all the tests the Cardinals would like because of soreness in his shoulder. Paletta was hopeful Rolen would be able to take another exam Friday that would detect any possible damage to the labrum.

NNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!

For the love of God, creator of creatures great and small, make it stop !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm hearing 4-6 weeks from a pretty good source.

Might make Mabry a decent temp pickup.

Mabry will be sharing time. I would look else where.

I'm shocked at you people.

People around here go nuts when Garrett Atkins misses a game or John Thompson has minor back pain.

We are looking at the possibility of SCOTT ROLEN being out for 6 weeks and nobody seems to care? The same shoulder he's injured before. The same shoulder he's getting a 2nd MRI on today after.

I don't get it.

Has everyone picked up Morgan Ensberg thinking he'll be an adequate replacement for one of the best 3B in the league.

We have Rolen, and we already are occupying our two DL spots w/ Wily Mo and Frank Thomas. Which one should we drop if you don't mind me asking?

I agree. It looks like they may be wanting to give Seabol a look, but I'm not really sure at this point. It will definitely be a platoon type deal until Rolen comes back though, so unless one guy starts tearing the cover off the ball none are really good fantasy options at this point.
