I use to play a mean tape ball game. We had a little fenced in yard across the street from where I grew up. Lots of houses near so we would wad up newspaper and wrap it in tape. Once threw a no-hitter. Proud moment......

I played baseball thru little league. Was pretty good I guess. Pitcher and SS for me. I think we went 10 games the All-Star league and then lost when I wasn't eligible to pitch. Then, I got hit in the Eye with a baseball and that pretty much turned me off from the whole baseball thing.
I retired from the game of baseball at age 10 (started at age 4). I wanted to look "cool", so I decided to go in the older division instead of stay in the younger one. Big mistake - I was in way over my head and I only got a few hits. It also prompted my "retirement"
Luckily, I was really small and decided to get into a really tight batting stance...LOTS of walks.

Yeah but they can put your eye out. There was a story on the local news this afternoon about a tennis player here at UK who got hit in the eye, is now blind in that eye, but is one of the premier players on the team and a big reason they made the NCAA tournament this year. I tried to find a link, but they didn't seem to have it updated, sorry. I'll try to dig it up later if I can find a link.
