If there is one thing Baker loves to do, it is replace a player performing just fine for another player.

I'd be shocked if Hermanson wasnt relegated back to the set-up role when Burowski returns.

Don't get too comfortable with Hermanson being the closer. Joe Borowski is about a week away from his return, and I think Dusty Baker will be quick to reinsert him into the closer's role. Look for someone in your league thats hurting for saves, and convince them that Hermanson is the man in Chicago. If he buys into it you've gotten max value for Hermanson and you've also freed up a roster spot to pick up a good setup man off of the waivers.

Umm.. Dusty Baker doesn't coach the WhiteSox and Hermansen doesn't pitch for the Cubs.

Hermansen=White Sox

Actually, if hermanson was on the cubs, he'd be worth hangibg on to as Borowski is coming back from injury and the rest of the prospective closers suck.

You're all totally wrong. Torre is likely to platoon Hermanson in LF with Micheal Jordan once Joe Montana comes back from the penalty box.

Seriously, I like Hermanson this year and have been getting good production from him. I wouldn't look for anything "official" any time soon, as Ozzie just don't play that, but I think Hermanson will continue to get a lot of save opps and be among the best of the mid-tier closers. Definately worth a pickup -- he also has SP and RP eligibility in yahoo -- if he's still available in your league.

Why is everyone confusing DEMPSTER and HERMANSON

I don't thnk they will make it offical because they are winning - Shingo and Hermanson should continue splitting save, and (for now at least) Shingo getting the Bulk

and for dempster - just look at all the other advice and put Dempster's name where hermanson's name appears

If it makes you feel any better, here in NYC we consider the NJ Jets & Giants New York teams, and the Buffalo Bills like some team from a forgien country.

hell, we have more Pats, Eagles, and Skins fans here then Bills fans.
