Start Damian Moss @ Colorado tomorrow?

Postby c0rey254 » Thu May 22, 2003 11:19 pm

I usually don't start anyone at Colorado, but Moss is having a very good season even with two losses in his last two starts. Should I sit him or start him?

Unfortunately(since I would like to start him as well) I think you answered your own question... Normally don't start people @ Coors...Lost last two starts....He is riding the pine and if he does well then its a good indicator for future games, but this one is almost out of the question. :-[

I agree you definately answered your own question. I'm a huge Giants fan but Moss walks too many batters and that can really come back to bite your A$$ at Coors.

Agreed. Could Moss pitch well at Coors? Certainly. But the risk of being shelled is still greater than the potential reward. Unless you're in a position where you have to start him (for instance, if he's your only hope of turning around a poor h2h week), play it safe and keep him on the bench.

I really hate benching a starter, but Moss can't seem to find the plate (34 walks in 55.1 innings) and if he gets one over the plate, it's likely to never land (in Coors). I've already benched him for today's game.

Yes, it looks like benching him was a pretty good call... :-D
