BA's been dead on in projections thus far. I'm pissed that Tampa took Wade Townsend. His workouts have sucked, Pelfrey and Hochevar are probably better. I actually wanted OF Cameron Maybin, even with our glut of OFs. I feel that we have to take the BPA and Maybin is the #2/#3 player on the board. We could've dealt Baldelli or somebody later on.

Ugh, the rumors come true ... I hate the Townsend pick. The only way I will ever like it is if he gets here realtively soon and pitches really well.

What are the Rockies thinking with Tulo and Nelson? Doesn't make much sense cause Tulo won't move to 3B ... Nelson to 2B or CF?

Also yeah I would take Upton over Kinsler pretty easily MOJ, you can't pass up a talent like that.

Hybrid, you also know that he projects better as a reliever, because he has only two plus pitches...the fastball and spike curve. And with the way his velocity's been as of late, that isn't even a plus pitch.

Yeah, they knew the Pirates would want one, so they just made sure there was no chance in heck we could even hope one falls. :~(

I don't know anything about this McCutcheon kid...what's his story. :-?

Yeah I know, hopefully he can get it back and develope into a solid SP or great closer.

I'm stoked about the Bryan Morris pick though! He was 1st round talent, but slipped cause he wanted to play 1 year for his father. If we can sign him later as a draft & follow, it could be big. The kid has an amazing curve, one f the best in the drafts, and all around pretty good stuff.

Straight from the horses mouth ... err BA:

"11. Pirates: Andrew McCutchen, of, Fort Meade (Fla.) HS
McCutchen’s game isn’t all about tools, though his tools are plus across the board. That starts with the most important tool: the bat. McCutchen has quick hands and a compact swing, producing surprising raw power for his size and giving him the bat speed to lash line drives to all fields. His athletic ability, speed and frame earn comparisons to Mets prospect Lastings Milledge, but he’s more polished at the plate, earning 60 and 70 grades from scouts (on the 20-80 scouting scale) with 50 raw power."

Basically Milledge light - with more speed and less power.

Cutch has an incredible bat. That's his best tool. He's actually showed surprising power for his size and has one of the highest HR/AB ratios in HS baseball.

I was actually hoping that the Rays would perhaps take a shot at him. Oh well.
