Bedard or Myers?

Postby HollywoodHershiserz » Wed May 11, 2005 12:09 pm

Which one is more likely to keep this up for the rest of the year?

Both have great stuff, but don't exactly pitch in pitcher's parks, and I'm afraid a correction is due for both eventually. If you could only have one, which would you rather have?

myers: backing up years of hype. he'll get you more Ks, give up less hits. he also has a little more experience. bedard (in my estimation) is going to end up with a mid-4 era, while myers should be at least a run below that.

Myers, but it is not out of the question for Bedard to actuall be better when all is said and done. They are both good, however I believe that Myers has more pure ability.

I think they will be about the same. Neither will pitch like they have so far for the rest of the season.

I like the fact that Bedard is a lefty and he doesn't walk people. He seems to have a very good idea of what he is doing up there. One thing that impressed me yesterday was, inducing a groundball double play to get out of a jam.

You can't go wrong with a guy who throws first pitch strikes and who has excellent command of his pitches. He will be successful as long as he contiues to throw strikes.

Myers until bedard shows me otherwise (not that hes doing bad I have both) but I want to see a couple mths of this before I side with him.

Myers is a K machine. And hes doing very well.

I am also biased, I like the phillies and watch more of thier games so I see his pitching more often
