World Cup, for Baseball?

Im wondering if MLB will ever approve the players playing in the olympics, the olympic comittee cleared the way several years ago. Can you imagine major leaguers under olympic rules?

250 ft to the foul pole, higher pitching mounds, metal bats in preliminary rounds....

(granted the recomendation is for 320 ft, but some stadiums dont build them that long without severe prodding), i think the US and dominicans would slightly reassert themselves as the dominat powers

heard the braves announcers a couple of years ago talk about how the braves players used some metal bats in BP (just for kicks) when georgia tech was in the college world series.....

andruw and a couple of others were really getting a kick at how far the balls were flying out of the park......

Kidding, we did win a silver medal at the olympics though!
We beat Japan and every other team there except Cuba (which we had on the ropes until a bad call lead to 3 runs), but no way could we compete against the South American and American teams.

Still, I would love to be able to travel somewhere in Australia to watch big leaguers play.
