in the orioles game julio got charged with an earned run when after he left ryan had punto steal second and then go to third on a wild pitch followed by a sac fly and another fly out to end the inning. arent wild pitches considered errors? if so wouldnt the run be unearned since there would not have been a run if not for the wild pitch?

No. Wild Pitches are the pitcher's own fault and the run would be earned.

so even though it was ryan's fault the run goes to julio? that sucks. why do the orioles only bring him in to face a couple of batters when he has been lights out all year

No different than if he gave up a hit and allowed the inherited runner to score. Gets charged to the the guy who put the runner on in the first place.

yeah, it's just kind of annoying that the wild pitch was by a different pitcher.

OK, but you're even. Ryan "screwed up" Julio's ERA for you, but Julio's base hit eventually lost the win for me, since I had Bedard pitching last night.
