He has been in the bigs for awhile he is 30 and never played full time it seems. He has pretty good HR rates with decent average. .260ish Any thoughts on him?

he is gonna be in the mix everyday for the next two weeks, but ryan klesko might be a better option if he is still available in your league (both should be 1b/of eligible)......
LATEST NEWS
Daryle Ward hit a three-run homer during the ninth as the Pirates set season highs for runs and hits (17).
(Updated 05/09/2005).
FANTASY ANALYSIS
For at least the next two weeks, Ward will play first base every day for the Pirates, who placed Craig Wilson on the 15-day DL. He deserves to be owned and active in all NL-only leagues now -- perhaps some larger mixed leagues, too.

If you're in a deep league or need help at 1B then he's worth using while he's hot but be ready to discard him just as quick when he gives you three or four nought fers in a row.
I would pretty much say the same thing. Once the pitchers remember to throw him sweeping breaking balls inside, he'll be back down to earth. I'll take the hits as they come right now, though.
I'm not so sure about the every day 1B thing, though...the announcers have said that Wigginton may get some starts at 1B in order to get Mackoviak/Sanchez/Hill some PT. Be careful with this situation unless you really need someone.

ward is another player that lloyd seems infatuated with regardless of production. throw in his current 'hot streak' and i think he is pretty safe for consistent starts in the near future
