I would rather have Schimdt rehabbing and recovering then pitching poorly, so I am pretty happy about this.

I know he's been pitching like arse. But it would be fun and interesting if they gave Jesse Foppert a shot. Maybe a shot in the bigs would motivate him to pitch to his potential.

Yes, pleased.

I knew he was injured or fatigued or that something was wrong with his arm when I traded for him. I'm glad they're sitting him down and letting him try to recover from it instead of throwing him to the wolves with consecutive starts at Houston and Colorado.

The only thing I'm slightly worried about is if it's a long term injury, which it may be.

I mean, did you Schmidt owners really want him to keep pitching the way he was the last few starts? Why have a guy like that in your lineup? Hopefully this is the first step to him getting his health (and his numbers) back.

Took the words right out of my mouth. I just traded for him too and I'm glad he'll get some rest. The good news is that he's not experiencing Damon Wayans (MAJOR PAIN). Unless this is a lot more serious than Schmidt or anyone else is letting on this should put Schmidt in the position to be his dominant self in 3 weeks or so.
Bluto: Over? Did you say over? NOTHING is over until WE decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? HELL, NO!
Otter: Germans?
Boon: Forget it, he's rolling.

Sorry if this should go in the trade forum, but do you think I'm selling myself short if I trade him for Brad Penny? or Francisco Cordero?

According to ESPNews, Jason Schmidt is being placed on the disabled list with a shoulder problem.
Schmidt kept saying he wasn't hurt, but it seems he was just kidding. What a funny guy. With Jerome Williams, Jesse Foppert and Matt Cain all struggling, it's likely that Brad Hennessey will take Schmidt's rotation spot for at least the next two weeks. May. 10 - 5:32 pm et

Cain is struggling?? He had one bad start, and before that start he was carrying a No-Hitter into the 8th Inning with 10 K's. Man, I really wish some of my other pitchers on my team would "struggle."
