I knew he was injured or fatigued or that something was wrong with his arm when I traded for him. I'm glad they're sitting him down and letting him try to recover from it instead of throwing him to the wolves with consecutive starts at Houston and Colorado.
The only thing I'm slightly worried about is if it's a long term injury, which it may be.
I mean, did you Schmidt owners really want him to keep pitching the way he was the last few starts? Why have a guy like that in your lineup? Hopefully this is the first step to him getting his health (and his numbers) back.
Took the words right out of my mouth. I just traded for him too and I'm glad he'll get some rest. The good news is that he's not experiencing Damon Wayans (MAJOR PAIN). Unless this is a lot more serious than Schmidt or anyone else is letting on this should put Schmidt in the position to be his dominant self in 3 weeks or so.
Bluto: Over? Did you say over? NOTHING is over until WE decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? HELL, NO!
Boon: Forget it, he's rolling.
