According to ESPNews, Jason Schmidt is being placed on the disabled list with a shoulder problem.
Schmidt kept saying he wasn't hurt, but it seems he was just kidding. What a funny guy. With Jerome Williams, Jesse Foppert and Matt Cain all struggling, it's likely that Brad Hennessey will take Schmidt's rotation spot for at least the next two weeks. May. 10 - 5:32 pm et

You know, in a funny way, as a Schmidt owner I am actually a bit relieved by this. Schmidt just hasn't been himself lately, and hopefully now they will get to the bottom of this and fix whatever the problem is, and he can hopefully go back to being his dominating self. If they had just continued on the same course and done nothing, I was getting REALLY nervous at the thought of starting him against Houston Thursday night.. :-o

I have a feeling this is gonna be MAJOR. He was down 6-8 MPH on his fastball. A minor arm injury can mess with your breaking pitches, but when you can't even throw your fastball...
