Burnett Owners

Postby Yoda » Mon May 09, 2005 7:36 pm

I seem to recall some Burnett owners complaining and worrying about the lack of K's when he was pitching back to back complete games earlier in the season.

Now that he is increasing his K rate, he is also walking and getting hit more. Which would you prefer now?

The low ratios.

46 pitches through 2 innings just isn't gonna cut it.

Let me qualify that statement. If Burnett can go out there and K 12-13 every game, then I'll take the K's, but at his current rate, the ratios need to come down.

Both. I don't think either is mutually exclusive. I think he can still K a high number of batters and keep his other numbers down.

Agreed. I think he could win the Cy Young this year.

He gave up 6 hits & 1 walk tonight. I'll take that on any night.

Seems like he gets so much better rest of the game. Second outing in a row. Maybe not loose enough to start the game? :-?

I agree that I could see him keeping both his ratios down and his K's up, he might develop into a top ace for a fantasy team right now if yo udont consider him one already. But if I had to choose Id say the ratios since almost all of my staff are K pitchers with the exception of Buerhle.

Could be. Whatever the case is, AJ is one of the top pitchers in the NHL right now. It's pretty funny, but I have the all-Florida staff (AJ, Becket & Penny).
To me, Becket & AJ are 1 & 1a. Becket may have the better record, but I do not think that he's pitched better than AJ. They have both been simply stellar.

Yeah I also have Beckett and Burnett in my money league. They've been great so far and hopefully they can stay healthy.
