Tigers placed RHP Troy Percival on the 15-day disabled, retroactive to May 8, with a partial tear of his right flexor pronator muscle mass. The Tigers hadn't indicated that Percival was having any problems. Still, this hardly comes as a surprise. Ugueth Urbina will move into the closer's role, and Kyle Farnsworth and Jamie Walker will be used as setup men. Expect an update later on a possible timetable for Percival's return. Yeah. Wonderful how they waited until after the weekly line-ups were submitted.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
Urbina should be good for some saves for a few months. FYI, he's been clocked at 95-96 mph this year. I don't know if he's consistently hitting that, but his velocity seems to be up.

Maybe he'll run away with it.. But in all seriousness, do you think that could happen?
Perceival makes 6 million a year, so he'll close as long as he's healthy. But Ugey makes 4 million, which is a ton for a setup man. Given his history as a closer, there were already trade rumors swirling about. The holdup seems to be that the Tigers are asking for too much in return. It wouldn't shock me to see him closing for another team eventually. But it wouldn't shock me to see him end the year as a setup man either.
