Vazquez would be a great target for managers looking to boster their rotation. His current ERA is 4.70, so you may be able to pilpher him from a fellow manager at a good price. His current K/9 is an even 9.00, his K/BB is a eye popping 5.50, and his BIPA is .333 which is way too high which means he has been very unlucky so far. The only statistic that I don't like is his GB/FB ratio which is at 1.02, which is a little high compared to his last three seasons, but a little below his 98-01 GB/FB ratio.
Expect 16W 200K 3.30 ERA 1.10 WHIP from him this season. Buy him while he is cheap.

I personally think he is too erratic for top of the rotation guy in a fantasy league esp in H2H leagues. He will go 3-4 starts like he has been pitching then bam! Give up 8 runs in 2 IP or something. I suppose the same could be said of most starters but Vaz just seems much more combustible.

I disagree... then again, I drafted him a bunch of times

Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he'll drown because you forgot to teach him to swim.

The only way you would be able to get him cheap is an owner who hasn't paid attention all season and who would just look at Vazquez's 4.70 era not his recent outings. That CG of his basically ended his buy low status.

I went into detail about him being a big bargain about a month ago. There were 2 threads about it. If you chose to listen to the advice, I'm sure you're a happy person. And if you're Yanks04, I'm sure you're waiting like a hawk for Vaz to allow more than 2 ER's so you can rip into him for being gutless

drafted him or traded for him before the season started everywhere i could. and i said he'd turn it around every time someone asked.
but yeah. the only way you'll be able to get him for cheap is if his owner thinks the last 4 starts were "flukes" and that the real vazquez was the one from the first 3. this owner would obviously have to be from bizaro world.
