Brazobán: What is his fate?

Postby Darkie Satchels » Mon May 09, 2005 4:35 pm

When - and if Gagne returns in the near future (who knows with LA's recent outbreak of conflicting reports and unusally quiet camp) what will be Brazobán's fate? Setup man? I'm sure he'll still share some closing duties for the first few weeks to see how Gagne is doing.

Should all of us with him be prepaired for the worst and start fishing for replacements?

HA! He's definately made himself one hell of a barganing chip. Too bad I don't see this in the near future (like say, before ASB). Too bad too cause he's simply amazing.

they should deal him because he has risen to mota-ish value. I am sure hes worth something pretty significant.

I think the problem is that Mota was replaceable (Brazoban) but I'm not sure if Brazoban is right now.

I know Gagne is coming back soon but let's be serious. He's had two injuries that sidelined him for the first 3 months of the season. What are the chances he is completely healthy for the remainder of the season when he is throwing back to back games in high pressure situations?

Great point and something I felt all along. Though, Gagne is costing them a pretty penny to be sitting out half the season while Braz is only upping in trade value.

As long as they are winning, the chances of Brazoban getting traded this year becomes slimmer by the day.

I'd ride out Brazoban for as long as you can. I'm still not sure exactly when Gagne will be back full-time (if they're smart they'll bring him along slowly) and even afterwards they might rest him more than usual, which would also Brazo to vulture some saves. Long term, though, his fate is as a set-up man on LA.
