Got kneed in the face when he was trying to take out the 2nd basemen to stop a DP. He was unconscious for 10 or so minutes, he's in the hospital now. That's all I know, I'm sure someone else has a little more info.

He had to be given oxygen to breath. Was kneed in the head at 2nd base. On the ESPN game tonight they said it is only a concussion. I hope he recovers completely. A Baseball (Red Sox) fan

The doctors said no spinal cord damage, which is great. Sounds like a really bad concussion to me. Too bad.

As for Zaun, for a tough, grind it out guy who's had to perservere to finally get a full time starting gig. Hope to see him back in uniform soon!

ye sit is a real shame, this year was looking to be his year. instead of retiring on the up side this injury may set him very low! i feel sorry for the guy, he was the true definition of a hard worker team player and they are far and few between this days.
