Personally, I'd anticipate a dip in his numbers this year. I'm not sure why he's looked upon as an automatic 1st round pick THIS YEAR?
I feel that the youthful lineup in Colorado is going to have more of an impact than people want to admit. His HR stroke will come in time...as soon as he stops wearing the weight of the ballclub on his shoulders the quicker he'll start hitting dingers. Let's remember Helton has always had Larry (and sometimes others like: Dante, Vinny, Preston, Burnitz etc) to share the responsibility of being the big hitter. Now he doesn't and there's no one in the lineup to protect him. What's there from prevent pitcher from pitching around him? I one legged PWilson? Hawpe? Holiday? If I'm a pitcher, espeically away from Coors, I'll take my chances with of the guys who's name doesn't rhyme with "Skeleton".
The lineup protection aside, I think the youth of Colorado are going to be streaky and if Helton isn't hot at the same time Runs and RBI's are going to be harder to come by this year (unless he's hitting himself home

).
But that's just my humble opinion, take it or leave it...what do I know.
ps wrveres, you may what to look at Helton's splits. I don't think you can place any blame for his below average start on Petco or the Padres.
