I am going to have to agree -- at least so far as this post is concerned. I mean, calling a guy injury prone is one thing, but expecting a guy to play with a broken wrist is quite another. Wft is that? The dude broke his wrist. That's not the kind of injury you rub dirt on and play through.

Picked him up 2 days ago in a 11 teamer.

He's filling in for my injured Thome.

I think he'll hit for a high average all year and good become a solid asset on my team.

That said, Tino Martinez is definitely holding his own in the Bronx. His OBP has always been around .360 and he just hit his 6th homerun today. With as many people tearing apart the Yankees (and don't I love it), Tino's production is probably slipping under a lot of radars.

Tino has surprised me. But, personally, I would take Nick's BA of .318, 3 HRs, 17 RBIs, 21-25 K/BB ratio over Tino's BA of .256, 6 HRs, 14 RBIs, and 15-11 K/BB ratio in a second.

Plus, when you factor in Nick's youth and upside vs Tino's age and upside being limited at this point in this career, I think the choice is pretty easy.

Also, fantasy baseball aide, Nick is only getting paid 1.45 mil this year. Just think of all the money the Yanks poured into Giambi's salary -- when they could have Nick Johnson for 1.45 mil. Even Tino is making something like 2.7 mil. And there's no way is he worth almost twice the salary.
