so Huff is normally a slow starter but this year he's not doing to bad.
Add'l SB is a welcome to my roster. Lou P has hit Huff 3rd or 4th in the lineup. Huff hits slightly better in career in 3rd slot but he's still productive nonetheless. I'm just worried he loses an extra AB per game.

Yesterday vs LHP Santana lineup was:

Crawford
Lugo
Huff

Today vs RHP Lohse:

ASanchez
Lugo
Crawford
Huff

Can anyone shed some light on this? Is this going to be permanent or just Lou fiddling with lineup. thx

Can't say I really know what the DRays are doing...

But the difference between batting 3rd or 4th really isn't one at bat "per game". The only time he'll lose an at bat is when the third hitter makes the last out of the game for the Rays. How many times will that actually happen? Certainly not every day.

It's really not something I'd worry about.

The top four of few teams in May is "permanent," especially atrocious ones like the Rays. Pinella is going through the motions in an attempt to make a pathetic team pretend to try to win baseball games. Enjoy Huff batting behind Crawford, who led the league in getting into scoring position last season, and enjoy Huff heating up as the season progresses. Without a dominant 3bman this season Huff is probably the best one in H2H formats: he will leave your opponents in a bloody, crumpled heap come August when he bashes their brains out with his .350 average. And he's still probably top 5, or right around there, in roto.
