it's in the box score way at the bottom:

ATLANTA PITCHER JOHN SMOLTZ HAS LEFT THE GAME IN THE THIRD INNING WITH A BACK INJURY.

CORRECTION: ATLANTA PITCHER JOHN SMOLTZ HAS LEFT THE GAME IN THE FIFTH INNING WITH A STRAINED MUSCLE IN HIS BACK.

I think he had it before the game, i heard them saying they were watching his pitch count because of a sore back, don't quote me on it but I recall something of that nature.

Thanks, RJ. I can't take credit for creating it though. ASUMIKEY did it for me. I asked him to make me a signature banner with Mark Prior and John Patterson in it and this is what he came up with. I really like it too. ;-D

He was experiencing back problems in the 3rd inning. He hung in there long enough to record the win. It didn't look too serious. His next start is at Coors so if he decides to skip a start, I wouldn't mind one bit.
