Is this just smoke and mirrors? or is he a legitimate top 25 starter?

Hard to tell at this point -- let's see how he fares against that potent SF offense tomorrow.

I sure as hell hope so. A positive I noticed is that he avg. a strikeout per inning last season. I've got him as my number 5, and I think he'll fill that role well.

i think he could be this year's oliver perez... and the Nats are playing well... they don't have much depth so injuries could be a disaster, but i think he has a good menu of pitches...

Baseball Prospectus labeled him as a major sleeper to start the year. He has always been labeled a top prospect with great stuff, but has never been able to put it together, for one reason or another. Still too early to tell, but I hope he falls apart (I just traded him).

Smart move, I think he's in for a big year.

Big year for this kid. I picked him up last month and have had fun pointing and laughing ever since.

I would say he can sustain it for this season or at least the all-star break...I could see a break down in the second half or a bust next year. Not a legit top 25 starter yet, but may have numbers like one for a few months.
