Great pitching for a 12 team league but you need to acquire at least 1 more relief pitcher, preferably 2, first of all.

Next, this offense is atrocious but fixable. That Ortiz/Pudge for Peavy/Reyes was fair but seriously hurt your team. Your offense is significantly worse off for it and you didn't need the pitching.

I personally would trade away Peavy and Halladay for the following reasons:

#1 Halladay and Peavy have the most trade value and are most appealing to other teams.

#2 You have enough depth that you can afford to lose them.

#3 Right now they will bring back a stud offensive player that you desperately need.

You can trade either Iguchi or Vidro and get that relief pitcher you are looking for (Go after a Turnbow or someone in the bottom tier, maybe try to trade 1 of them for Borowski/Mota and gamble).

I hope that helps, look at mine please and reciprocate.

I love the potential of Jose Reyes and Jake Peavy. You gave up a lot in Pudge and Ortiz, but you may be pleasantly surprised.

2B/SS are tough positions to fill, and you already have Inge at C.

I like your starting pitching. You may want to look at a reliever from the waiver wire like a Miguel Batista.

I would also look at picking up up a 1B to replace Klesko -- someone like Hinske or Erstad.

Please take a look at:

I personally like the deal u made. Peavy is one of the best pitchers around and you have a decent catcher already. I too would trade an SP (Halladay probably) for a lights out closer (Lidge, K-Rod)

yeah, like everyone said, trade SP for RP or two and then upgrade your hitting. RP is definitely your main concern and your SP is way too deep. You need upgrades at first third and OF, and you should be able to package those players with pitching to get them.

Here's a few, what do you guys think?

Peavy - Drew/Nevin/Pineiro
Halladay - Nevin/Pavano or Overbay\Rowand
Bedard - C Everett\Tavarez
Bedard - Rowand

I don't think I would do any of those deals. I believe that Bedard is going to be a good pitcher. I wouldn't deal a starter unless I know that the guy I am getting in return will solidly fill another position.

If you trade Bedard for say Pineiro and Drew, that might work out well for you as Pineiro is a solid SP and Drew is a nice position player. I don't know if that is an option.

Halladay Deal

Postby DeAndre77 » Fri May 06, 2005 6:25 pm

I'm thinking heavily about the Halladay deal because I have a bunch of pitching and Peavy fills whatever void that Halladay leaves.....Livan will get me CG and I have pitchers with low ERA's. Don't even know who to drop, got Wade Miller on the bench and I'd like to start him.

Thanks for the advice too....

don't do a trade for nevin or overbay! Nevin isn't that great and Overbay is at an all time high right now, not when you want to buy...klesko's probably better than those two...look to someone else for an upgrade at first...
