There is one way to turn this organization around and one way only:

get new ownership - someone willing to invest money into the club.

Just curious.....Is that what you/Detroit was saying about the Tigers 5 years ago?

I am too cautious to call for new ownership of the Royals because of the previous struggles the Royals went through just to sell the team. I think there is always a fear of this team leaving town.

KC fans really deserve a better team. Call for a new GM, Billy Beam
Are you interested in joining a 28 teams dynasty league? If so, PM me.

Its a different scenario in that DET fans were never really concerned about losing the club. However - yes, 5 yrs ago there were many calls for Illitch to sell. Instead, he hired a new front office, built a new stadium, and increased payroll.
I do understand your pain, but at the same time, unless the owner commits to moving the Royals forward, its gonna be a tough road ahead - he cant just mail it in so to speak.
