Baird did nothing wrong this off-season

Postby PlayingWithFire » Thu May 05, 2005 4:24 pm

A lot of Royals fans has been complaining about Baird. But I personally think that he did nothing wrong this off-season.

Tell me what you think he did wrong THIS off-season.

Did he do anything this offseason?

Lima and Anderson signed. Sisco in the Rule-5. Then again it is not like he had a whole lot to work with.

Agreed. What else could he have done?

I personally think that if you are going to go through a youth movement then why have Marrero, Stairs and Long wasting spots for young guys?

Hey Hong fu are you the same guy that posts on the MVP 2004 mod board?

If so I enjoy your reads over there. I am a huge MVP 2004 fan. ;-D

The point of having Stairs and Marrero and Lima and Anderson is not to lose 119 games and lose revenue.

Baird don't have anything to work with, that's the point. If Royals really want to prevent themselves from losing 100 this year, the only way is do what Arizona did in the off-season.

And thanks for the compliment, but I don't remember writing any thing in mod section. :-[

Thanks anyway.

I'm in agreement. The Royals losing is an issue of not getting it done on the field (they've been in too many close games to argue differently) and some choices the manager has made can also be questioned.

Baird is doing his job. I am sure that he has restrictions placed on him that are not public knowledge.

It's time (for those of us who have been in denial) to take our lumps and just hope we do not seriously challenge the all time loss record!

I dont know - I guess its difficult to win a footrace when you start out with two broken legs.

There is one way to turn this organization around and one way only:

get new ownership - someone willing to invest money into the club.

Just curious.....Is that what you/Detroit was saying about the Tigers 5 years ago?

I am too cautious to call for new ownership of the Royals because of the previous struggles the Royals went through just to sell the team. I think there is always a fear of this team leaving town.
