Ryan Klesko...worth a look?

I said before this season began that he'd have his swing back and it certainly appears to be that way. Last year was really a fluke season, from a power standpoint, because he wasn't able to lift weights in the offseason due to shoulder surgery. He still posted a career high in on-base percentage at .399, while hitting .291. Those are both pretty good numbers.

Being in the middle of what on paper seems to be a good San Diego lineup, especially when Greene returns on Monday and Giles starts hitting can only help his value. Even with Giles struggling, he still leads the NL in walks, so he is at least on base for Klesko to drive in. Roberts and Loretta also at the top of the lineup cannot hurt either. Ramon Hernandez behind him ensures he'll get pitches to hit.

His power stroke is no early season fluke either; these homeruns have been absolute bombs (414, 392, 387 in the past two games). He has hit three in the past two days, which gives him four on the season in Petco, certainly not a hitters park.

He's available in most leagues. So what do you think? Worth a starting spot at utility in a 14 team league?

25 -30 80-90. not great or anything for an OF, but serviceable in deep leagues as a 3rd OF or utility.

I picked him up as a fill-in tomorrow because of off-days, but I don't think he'll stick around long.

Not as much a game, but more like a nice solid stretch where he really shows he's got that stroke back. Early in the year he was hitting the ball hard, but it was right at people so there wasnt that good a reason to post.

He's been a Godsend for me with his 1B/OF eligibility. The production has been admirable given that Bonds and my starting 1B are both down.

I won't say he's great, but you definitely could be doing worse.

I targeted him in my 15 team league because I also thought he would have a decent comeback year. He has been pretty solid for me putting about decent points week to week. I do not see why he can't continue to produce.

Why not? This guy's career averages are something like .280 - 28 HR - 90Runs 90RBI 10SB. If he puts up an "average" year like that off the waiver wire, that's pretty freakin money.

I picked him up for a bench, Util slot and I'm sticking with him. Truly solid player who has his strength back and is figuring out Petco. Lots of runs to drive in behind Loretta and Giles too.

I like him a lot. Soon I'll have 3 padre hitters on my team as I have Klesko and Hernandez. I'll be picking up K. Greene for R. Belliard when he comes off the DL.
