Thome, Helton, Vernon Wells, and Carlos Lee are all CLEARLY on steroids....

It is certainly a fire starter to blame steroids for the declines of the Giles'.....but man, these guys were little guys build like brick shithouses...and now, the power is gone...I wondered like the rest of you.... !+)

Agree with the absurdity of steroids being used as an excuse for every instance of poor performance or injury, but Giles and his (formerly) swollen torso were blatantly on the juice and i assumed everyone else knew as much...

He's waiver fodder in non-ops leagues, a guy to watch (has to start hitting eventually) but not someone who's going to produce enough runs to be any more of a legit starter in the OF than your average pickup on a hot streak

He is in a slump, not washed up.

He is no longer a top OF'er but I'd still be happy with him as a 3rd/4th OF'er in mixed leagues.

washed up? pshh. he's still solid, and i'd be happy with him as a 2nd or 3rd OF in most 12 team leagues. he'll hit .280 with 25 homers and steal 10 to boot.

I doubt he hits 25 homers...and might steal 8-10 but I even doubt that...and finally, he'll be lucky to hit .280. Regardless, that is pretty much WW material anyways. Plenty of guys produce like that from the FA list every year.
