Roster Advice Needed Will Return Favor

Postby CeeLoGreen » Wed May 04, 2005 2:01 am

Just wanted to get some opinions and see if any moves needed to be made. Any input would be appreciated. Leave a link and I'll return the favor.

Currently bouncing between 4th and 6th place

10 team Roto H, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, ERA, WHIP, K, W, SV

J. Varitek (Bos - C)
1B C. Delgado (Fla - 1B)
2B M. Giles (Atl - 2B)
3B M. Mora (Bal - 3B)
SS J. Rollins (Phi - SS
OF B. Abreu (Phi - OF)
OF H. Matsui (NYY - OF)
OF C. Crawford (TB - OF)
OF R. White (Det - OF)
Util E. Chávez (Oak - 3B)
Util C. Koskie (Tor - 3B)
DL B. BondsDL (SF - OF)

SP B. Webb (Ari - SP)
SP J. Weaver (LAD - SP)
SP J. Marquis (StL - SP)
RP O. Dotel (Oak - RP)
RP B. Looper (NYM - RP)
P D. Turnbow (Mil - SP,RP)
P S. Takatsu (CWS - RP)
P J. Brower (SF - RP) P
BN J. Garland (CWS - SP)
BN P. Martínez (NYM - SP)
BN M. Morris (StL - SP)

P.S. I just made a deal that sent Rollins and Turnbow for Renteria and Vernon Wells. I was thinking of dropping Coskie for someone like Borowski to replace Turnbows saves, although I am ahead of second by 3 and third by 9. Other options would be to pick up another starter but pickings are thin (Loaiza, Westbrook, Arroyo, Chen, Washburn or hitters like Alfonso, Erstad, Nixon, Ford ) although I am not a fan of having many bench players I dont use.

Thanks in advance

If you want to pick up another starter, go with Loaiza or Washburn, but otherwise, you seem pretty set for now. White's your weak spot in the outfield, obviously, but wells could shore that up if he heats up. Weaver's iffy, too, and tradeable if you're looking to upgrade anywhere else.

Maybe make a deal for a front-line starter. Sheets and Wood can both come pretty cheaply these days, so maybe get one of those and a decent OF back for abreu. I don't think your offense will suffer that much.

I would consider Abreu my best player, save Pedro. Should I really consider trading him???? And why would it be for an injured pitcher????? Any other opinions. Leave a link and Ill try and help as well.
