Wasnt this a discussion about two weeks ago?

He's improved since then, and I still say he'll finish as a top 40 OF:

.295, 25HR, 65RBI, 20SB

Which are great numbers for someone in their first full year and I see this guy as a great longterm keeper (depending on how your league does keepers anyways), if you drafted expecting less than that or can get him for cheaper than those stats I would.

Lol. And the Podsednik aura pulls the wool over the eyes of yet another poor victim.

I drafted Rowand, but not too early. He was one of the last centerfielders taken in my league (outfield positions are separated in our league). In hindsight, it looks like a stretch to expect anything near what he did in '04 to happen this year:

2001: .293/.385/.431, .816 OPS
2002: .258/.298/.394, .692 OPS
2003: .287/.327/.452, .779 OPS
2004: .310/.361/.544, .905 OPS
2005: .237/.308/.355, .663 OPS

He made a big jum from '03 to '04 and will likely drop back (trampoline effect). He should definitely improve from his slow start this year, but I don't see another .544 SLG from him.
Roger Angell: I was talking with Bob Gibson and I said: 'Are you always this competitive?' He said: 'Oh, I think so. I got a three-year old daughter, and I've played about 500 games of tic-tac-toe with her and she hasn't beat me yet.'

IVE NEVER been a fan of pods, ever. He steals bases, and not even at a consistant pace. Ive never recomended him as anything other than a late season boost if you can get him dirt cheap. He hurts too many other ways in a roto league and doesnt score much in a pts league. Rowand has much more upside, and will actually perform.

I was actually offered Rowand for Lowell in one of my leagues? Is this how far Rowand's value has dropped?? :-?
