i am firing myself as manager of my team. i talked myself into picking up Brown for his two starts. 6 runs given up to TB in first. i am currently taking resumes for interim manager.

Hahaha. It really is sad to see Brown diminish the way he has. While one side of me loves it for the way he left San Diego there is NO way we would have gotten there without him so it's a little bittersweet to watch his pitch as horribly as he is. If there's any conselation, though, he is making Steinbrenner look bad and that's always good.

EDIT - By there, I mean the World Series in '98.

Yeah, I remember that year very well. Kevin Brown outdueled Randy Johnson and the Astros TWICE. Add the fact that you used our own Ken Caminiti to beat us. :~( :~( :~(

Ahh, gotta love the good 'ole days. BTW...Hitchcock I believe outdueled Randy one of those games. Brown and Hampton pitched game three and I think Elarton got the loss and Miceli the win. Could be wrong though.

Well it is not like you did not know better. What would ever possess you to start Kevin Brown?

Pretty nice avatar btw Mr. Marver. My aunt is from San D. and we all cheered for the Padres in 1998, it just happened to be the Yankees year (just like how last year was Red Sox... my poor Cardinals.)
...Boston papers now and then suffer a sharp flurry of arithmetic on this score; indeed, for Williams to have distributed all his hits so they did nobody else any good would constitute a feat of placement unparalleled in the annals of selfishness. -Updike
