I've never played in a very shallow league, but in every other league I've been in, this is more than fair, and the guy getting the three players may be getting the better deal. Using auction values, even if Vlad is a $50 player (and I've never been in a league where he's gone for that), it is arguable that the other three are $20 players (again, presuming Carlos Lee).

I also agree it is quite fair. Who are the other OFs of the guy in first if he could give up 3 good starters for Vlad? He must have had like 6 premier OFs on his team. Sounds like an autodraft league.
