No soup for me?

Postby indyindian » Mon May 02, 2005 9:30 pm

I'm in a 12 team points league. I can never seem to get a handle on 1st place. While I'm in 2nd, there are about 4 teams on my pursuit.

Please offer your suggestions and point out strengths/weaknesses, and areas where I can or should trade. I will respond to your links as well.

Bench is weak, pitching's not bad. Posada and a bench player might grab you a better catcher in a trade, but I'd worry about Wilkerson and Utley before that. I dunno how Wilkerson will hold up in the long run, and there's a good chance Utley won't be an everyday starter, especially if he slows down at all, b/c polanco's right behind him. Burrell's also slowing down. Keep an eye on the WW and think about packaging mid-level pitchers with one or two of these guys for higher quality 1B, 2B, especially. Look for a closer, too. Your team needs a little work, but isn't bad overall.

solid team i'd start uribe over utley b/c of the AB difference. U may wanna sell barmes high b.c he'll def slow down. Package Barmes and Posada for a solid C and a okay SS. U many also wanna trade Burrell depending on whether you think he'll keep it up. He will not keep this up IMO. Burrel, Wilkerson, for a top tier 1B maybe. Then you could move Huff to LF and Crisp to RF. Crisp will produce. You also lack a great closer.
