Any good fantasy owner will take all kinds of splits into consideration when deciding whether or not to start a pitcher: How does this pitcher fare against this team? in this ballpark? in this month? at this time of day? etc. When trying to solve the enigma that is Oliver Perez, I found that of all his splits, this was the most shocking.

Oliver Perez

When Started by Pokey:
0 Wins 3 Losses 2.17 WHIP, 9.37 ERA

When Not Started by Pokey:
1 Win 0 Losses 0.78 WHIP, 0.00 ERA

As Pokey will be benching Ollie this week, you can rest assured that it is safe to start him. I would expect a line something like this:

W, 9.0 Innings, 0 ER, 0 H, 0 BB, 27 K's.
