Let's not forget that nutty guy Steinbrenner, who is nuts enough to take those remarks personally and not go after him. He's also nutty enough to go after him just to sign the guy and make him eat his words publicly, all season, when he doesn't retire. Don't forget about the Winfield thing. Stein is only crazier now. And don't forget, Damon is an idiot.
Isn't Juan Pierre a free agent after this season? I remember reading somewhere that Steinbrenner had a jonesing for him. I'd love to see Pierre roaming center.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
Pierre and Damon were my first two choices for CF.
I heard rumors about Andruw Jones, whose defense would be second to none, but not thrilled about his bat.
Also there's rumors about Griffey Jr., who I do and always have liked. He's always been a favorite, but at 35 years old and with all his injuries, and big contract, may not be worth the trouble.

not to mention great speed in the leadoff spot that the yankees haven't had in a while. (does Knoblauch count for this?)
Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he'll drown because you forgot to teach him to swim.

Yeah, and you're doing a great job contributing to the subject with such quality posts as:

and

And "son of a gun" is a figure of speech, Larry Literal.
Do you have a problem?
Making an off-topic comment every now and then is a lot different than completely changing the topic of the thread.
A very in depth and interesting discussion could be made about Juan Pierre's "real-life" value as opposed to his fantasy value. I just didn't think it'd be right to start that discusiion in this thread. What's wrong with that?
