What is up with Foulke?

So what is going on with Keith Foulke? I have him in an AL only league along with Guardado and Betancourt.

He hasn't had an ERA over 3 or a WHIP over 1 since 1998. He has one of the best track records for a reliever. I wouldn't be worried.

Yeah he's walking too many and not K'ing enough. Not sure if his velocity is down or anything, but it's the BB's that have me concerned. He's also given up 5 HR's already, after giving up only 8 all of last year. He'll find the strike zone eventually, but as of right now, you can't walk that many and be a successful closer.

...and let's not even mention the HRs. We can just close our eyes and hope they go away.

Living here in Boston, I have found the Dale and Holly show on WEEI 850 to have some pertinent interviews. Every week, they have Tery Francona on, and today, funnily enough, he said that Foulek had been throwing real well the last three outings, and it is just a matter of time before things get ironed out.

Additionally, did you guys see where that pitch was last night that Thames hit? The pitch sequence went

Strike One...blew a fastball by him at 88 MPH
Strike Two...Repeat of first
HR...Fastball at eyelevel that Thames tomahawked for what the announcers said looked like apitch he shouldn't even have swung at....hope thats helpful

Essentially, just trust him to end up with 35+-3 saves at years end
