I don't know if this has been talked about before. A buddy of mine was telling me about a Ken Harvey story that he saw this weekend about all of the times that he got injured. He weighs so much that his size seemed to cause him to constantly get injured after making plays or running into other players.
Out of curiosity, who are some of the "larger than life (overweight) players" in MLB?
these names come to mind
Bartolo Colon
David Wells
Daryl Ward
Ray King
Ken Harvey
are there any others?

My 2 cents -- or two donuts --Fat Matt Stairs.
What I think is interesting is when a player effectively eats his way out of the MLs -- i.e. his weight makes play in the field practically impossible or leads to injuries that shorten his career. It happens to some stellar players. Are you reading this Mo Vaughn and Kevin Mitchell?

da meat hook?
and while we're at it... is Mo Vaughn still on the Mets' 40 man roster?
Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he'll drown because you forgot to teach him to swim.

No, but he's still on the pay roll (Mo Vaughn) haha. I nominate Manny Ramirez for the sole reason that we chanted at him the entire game (Pedro's The Yankes are My Daddies Game) last year the following crowd pleasers from Right Field all the way to Left...
"Join a gym Manny, Join a Gym"
"Fat F___ Manny! Fat F___ Manny"
"Manny's Fat, Manny's Fat, Manny's Fat"
Also nominated, from the Indians, Ronnie Belliard and C.C. Sabathia.
